👩 Who Was Abigail?

David and his men had been protecting Nabal’s shepherds in the wilderness without asking for payment. When the time came for David to request food for his men, Nabal rudely refused and insulted him. Furious, David prepared to lead four hundred men to destroy Nabal’s household. When Abigail heard what had happened, she immediately gathered bread, wine, roasted grain, raisins, figs, and other provisions. Without telling her husband, she hurried to meet David before it was too late.
